Who are you?

I’m a self-taught photographer and a passionate water-man who loves all aspects of the ocean.

I have always managed to find my artistic streak through photography, and after I purchased my first SLR camera 15 years ago, my eyes were opened to the opportunities that lay before me… and I loved it!

Why the Ocean?

The ocean is an incredibly special place for me, and I always had an interest in surfing, however growing up in Johannesburg, South Africa, some 550km’s from the nearest coastline, made it difficult to hone my surfing skills at an early age. It was only when I moved to Sydney, Australia in 2006 that I was able to dedicate more time to the ocean in all its forms.

Once I bought my first surf camera housing, I was then able to really bring both my passions together through wave and surf photography. These days I can shoot photos from under the water, from in the waves and with the help of a new drone, I can capture images from above the ocean too.

What else do you enjoy?

Like most people, I really enjoy travelling and have travelled extensively around the world, throughout Europe, Asia, Central and South America and Oceania. Currently I am travelling around Australia (doing the ‘Lap’) with my wife in our fantastic motorhome. Because of this, most of my current photography is focused on our Australian travels. and with the abundance of amazing coastlines that Australia has to offer, this trip definitely works for me.

Do you have any accolades?

I am always looking for new challenges in my photography and I’m grateful to have won several photo competition prizes over the years.  This has allowed me to keep upgrading my cameras and equipment which in turn keeps me growing and developing as a photographer.

By showcasing my photography on my website, I am looking to give people the opportunity to purchase images and prints directly from my site.
